About You
You’re a go-getter who isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves. You adapt quickly to changing needs—one minute coordinating a last-minute pickup, the next communicating with a volunteer or a partner agency. You build positive relationships, stay organized under pressure, and care deeply about getting good food to the people who need it.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and complete daily food rescue pickups and deliveries (including operating non-CDL box trucks).
- Communicate clearly with food donors, volunteers, and partner agencies to ensure smooth operations.
- Track pickups, deliveries, and inventory details with accuracy; support basic data entry and reporting.
- Maintain vehicles, equipment, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and compliant manner.
- Uphold food safety and handling standards; follow all DOT and organizational policies.
- Pitch in wherever needed—this is a team effort to fight hunger.
Qualifications & Experience
Education/Experience
- Associate’s degree or relevant work experience.
- 2–3+ years in customer service and/or the nonprofit sector.
Driving
- Clean driving record required.
- Ability to drive non-CDL box trucks.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Communication & Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong time management, organization, and multitasking.
Physical Demands
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy food items.
- Comfortable operating equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Willing to work in a variety of weather conditions.
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000–$55,000, based on experience.
