Kentucky Harvest

Less food wasted.
More people in Kentuckiana fed.

There’s enough food for everyone. Help us get it to those who need it most.

Plate it Forward with your monthly gift today.

Food belongs on plates, not in landfills.

Yet up to 30% of food that gets thrown out could have been saved—and given to people in need.

One in 7 people struggles with food insecurity each day. That often means they must choose between eating and paying the bills.

No one should have to make that choice. With your help, they won’t have to.

We’ve rescued over 87 million pounds of food since ‘87.

The way we see it, there are two problems with one solution:

Problem #1: Food insecurity
While there are already many nonprofit organizations dedicated to feeding their communities, they’re not focused specifically on food waste as a necessary way to feed people.

Problem #2: Food waste
Excess food in landfills is more harmful to the air we breathe than the entire airline industry.

Our solution? We act as the purveyors sourcing food that would otherwise go to landfills and delivering it to the organizations that serve Kentuckiana.

We work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And we won’t stop until we’ve solved both problems.

Fill someone’s plate in Kentuckiana.

You can contribute to a stronger, greener, well-nourished Kentuckiana. Your monthly gift will help us save perfectly good food and put it to work for our local communities by:

Minimizing our carbon footprint

We’ve saved nearly 5 million pounds of carbon dioxide gasses from our air in the last year alone.

Expanding food access

Our work helps feed tens of thousands of people—including your neighbors—each year.

Strengthening our communities

We’ve freed up $4 million in local nonprofits’ food costs to put toward resources that benefit the people of Kentuckiana in other meaningful ways.

We’re powered by passionate volunteers and generous donors.

There’s plenty of food to go around.

Help make sure it gets to those who need it most. When you Plate It Forward, you’re sharing the gift of food and feeding hope in Kentuckiana—one plate at a time.
